“Discussed the first release and agreed to test onboarding with a small user group.”
Say it once.
Keep what matters.
Record any thought, conversation, or lecture. Turn audio into clear notes, important takeaways, and actionable next steps.
“Measure activation before expanding rollout.”
Recording is easy.
Remembering what matters is harder.
Most recordings are never heard again. The idea, the decision, the detail worth keeping — it's all in there, buried under minutes of audio.
- Long recordings you never replay
- Scattered voice memos with no structure
- Details that fade within days
- Follow-ups that quietly slip away
- Skimming, scrubbing, listening again
- Clear summaries you'll actually reread
- Key points, organized and scannable
- Action items you can act on
- Notes that are searchable
- A timestamp for every moment
From recording to clarity.
In three steps.
Record
Capture a thought, conversation, meeting, or lecture — in the moment, hands free. Pause, resume, and keep recording in the background while you use other apps.
Let AI organize it
Turn audio into a timestamped transcript, then into structured notes: a summary, the key points, and the follow-up items worth your attention.
Return to what matters
Revisit your notes, ask questions about the recording, jump straight to a timestamp, or follow up on the tasks it surfaced.
One app. Every kind of thought.
study.autonote shapes its notes around what you're recording. Pick a mode before you start — or leave it on General and let it sort itself out.
Illustrative demo content — in the app, these notes are generated from your actual recordings.
Keep the important parts. Leave the rest behind.
One recording, distilled into a summary you'll actually reread. Every session comes back structured the same clear way — so nothing important hides in the middle.
- AI summaries — the gist of a 45-minute lecture in a paragraph.
- Key points & details — organized, scannable, and complete.
- Action items — decisions and follow-ups, pulled out and made checkable.
- Export anywhere — PDF or Markdown, in one tap.
Reviewed the onboarding rollout and discussed the initial release timeline. The team aligned on scope for the next cycle and closed with open questions on analytics.
- Activation is the metric to watch before any wider rollout
- Onboarding copy needs a second pass
- Analytics questions remain open
- Prepare the test plan for the pilot
- Share analytics questions by Friday
Jump back to the exact moment.
Every transcript is timestamped and synced to your audio. Tap a line and playback picks up right there — no scrubbing, no guessing, no replaying the whole thing.
- Full transcripts — speech-to-text for every recording you process.
- Timestamp navigation — tap any line to hear that exact moment.
- Playback speed controls — skim at 2×, slow down for the parts that count.
Try it — tap a transcript line, or press play.
Ask your recording what you missed.
Your recordings become a memory you can question. Ask what was decided, what was said, or what you should follow up on — answers come from the audio you saved.
- Grounded answers — drawn from the content of a saved recording.
- Follow-up aware — “what should I do next?” is a valid question.
- Searchable forever — your notes stay on your device, ready when you are.
Built for the moments worth remembering.
Professionals
Meeting recaps that write themselves. Turn any discussion into decisions, context, and follow-ups — while it's still fresh.
Students
Lectures become structured notes, flashcards, and practice questions — before the exam, not the night before.
Creators & entrepreneurs
Capture the idea while it's hot — hands free, anywhere.
Researchers
Interviews, organized. Find the quote, the theme, the moment.
Everyday thinkers
Voice memos and reflections, kept tidy and searchable.
More than notes. A better way to review.
If it's worth recording, it's worth remembering. study.autonote turns lectures and imported material into an actual study system — so review is a habit, not a scramble.
- Flashcards & practice questions — auto-generated from any lecture or import.
- AI explanations — ask follow-up questions about the material.
- Review scheduling — study blocks with reminders and calendar sync.
- Real streaks & stats — see the progress you're actually making.

Your recordings belong to you.
No cloud inbox, no account requirement, no processing without your say-so. Here's exactly how it works.
Local-first storage
Your recordings and notes live in private storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded or synced unless you ask it to be.
AI only when you ask
Transcription and AI notes run on your request. When they do, the audio is sent for transcription — nothing happens in the cloud without your action.
No account required
Record, organize, and export without signing in. Google Sign-In is optional — used only to restore purchases on a new device.
You're responsible for following recording and consent laws where you live. study.autonote is a tool — permission to record always comes from people, not the app.

1. Overview
study.autonote is an Android app published by Galadriel Labs (“we”, “us”) that records audio and turns it into transcripts, notes, summaries, and study aids. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.
2. Microphone & recordings
The app requests microphone permission in order to record. Audio is captured only while you are actively recording, and recordings are saved to your device's private storage. We never have access to your recordings unless you explicitly request AI processing.
3. Local, on-device storage
Recordings, transcripts, and notes live in the app's private storage on your device. They are not automatically synced or uploaded anywhere. Deleting items in the app, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app removes this local data.
4. Cloud transcription (when you request it)
When you ask for a transcript, the audio file is uploaded securely to our backend and sent to a third-party cloud speech-to-text provider for transcription. The resulting transcript is returned to your device and stored locally alongside the recording.
5. AI notes, summaries, and answers
When you generate notes, flashcards, or ask questions about a recording, the relevant text (typically the transcript) is sent from our backend to a third-party AI processing provider. Generated results are returned to you and stored locally.
6. Anonymous installation identifiers
The app uses an anonymous installation identifier to meter AI hours and validate entitlements (for example, hours remaining on your plan). This identifier is not linked to your identity or contact information unless you sign in with Google.
7. Optional Google Sign-In
Signing in is optional and is only used to restore purchases on new devices. If you sign in, we receive your Google account email address and a token used to verify your identity with Google. We never receive your password, and we don't use your account for marketing.
8. Purchases & billing
All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive purchase and entitlement information (such as which plan is active and how many hours remain). Google handles your payment details — we never see your card.
9. Crash reports
The app may send anonymous diagnostic reports (such as crash stack traces and device model) to help us fix problems. These reports never include your recordings, transcripts, or notes.
10. Service providers we rely on
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Google Play | Purchases, billing, and optional sign-in |
| Cloud speech-to-text provider | Transcription of the audio you submit |
| AI processing provider | Notes, summaries, and question answering |
| Cloud hosting provider | Backend infrastructure |
Each provider processes data on our behalf only to deliver the feature you requested. Their own terms govern transient processing on their systems.
11. Security
Data in transit is protected with encryption (HTTPS/TLS). We apply access controls on our backend and collect as little data as possible. No system is perfect — please don't record information you wouldn't trust to these channels.
12. Data retention
- On-device data — kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall.
- Account & entitlement records — kept while your optional account exists or as needed to honor purchases; removed after a verified deletion request.
- AI processing — audio and text are processed to fulfill your request; see the providers' terms for their handling of transient copies.
13. Your choices
- Deny or revoke microphone permission at any time (recording will stop working).
- Delete individual recordings or all app data in the app's settings.
- Request account deletion on the Delete Account page, or server-side data deletion on the Delete Data page.
- Stay signed out — basic recording never requires an account.
14. Recording consent
Laws about recording conversations vary by place. You are responsible for obtaining consent from everyone you record. Use good judgment, and check local rules before recording calls or meetings.
15. Children's privacy
study.autonote is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes & contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, note them in the app or on this site. Questions? Contact us at the support address, or visit galadriel.app.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By using study.autonote, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. The service
study.autonote is an Android app for recording audio and generating transcripts, notes, summaries, and study aids using AI. Some features require an internet connection and a paid plan or hour credits.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use features that involve an account or purchases.
4. Your account
Accounts are optional. Google Sign-In exists solely to restore purchases. Keep your Google account secure — we can't restore access to it.
5. Consent to record
You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required by law before recording people, calls, or meetings, and for how you use those recordings.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to record without consent where required, to infringe others' rights, to abuse our servers or AI providers, or to reverse-engineer the service beyond what law permits.
7. AI-generated content & accuracy
Transcripts and AI notes are generated automatically and may contain errors or omissions. Verify anything important before relying on it. AI output is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
8. Your content
You own your recordings and notes. You grant us only the limited right to process them as needed to deliver the features you explicitly request.
9. Purchases & billing
Subscriptions and hour packs are sold through Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices and taxes are shown in Google Play at checkout.
10. Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time through Google Play; it remains active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies.
11. Availability
We may add, change, or discontinue features. We'll aim to give reasonable notice before changes that significantly affect paid features.
12. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend service for misuse, or stop offering the service entirely, with fair notice where practical.
13. Data protection
See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled and how to request deletion.
14. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York.
16. Changes & contact
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept them. Material changes will be flagged in the app or on this site. Contact: support.
Delete Your study.autonote Account
Basic use of study.autonote doesn't require an account. If you linked a Google account (to restore purchased hours), you can request its deletion here — even if you've already uninstalled the app.
Signing out
Unlinks Google on this device only. Your account record stays on our servers so purchases can be restored later.
Deleting your account
Removes the account association, your linked email address, sign-in tokens, and account-linked records from our servers — after we verify the request.
Before you delete — know the consequences:
- Deleting your account link may make it harder to restore purchased hour packs on a new device.
- It does not cancel an active subscription — cancel subscriptions in Google Play separately.
- It does not delete recordings or notes on your device — remove those in the app (or by uninstalling it).
- Records Google must retain (such as transaction history) remain with Google under their policies.
Requests submitted here are recorded securely on our backend and reviewed by our support team. We confirm by email before anything is deleted.
Request Deletion of Your Data
Different kinds of data live in different places. Here's what's where, and how to remove each kind.
1 · On your device
Recordings, transcripts, and notes. Delete them in the app: open any recording and choose Delete, or use Settings → storage controls. Uninstalling also removes them. We can't erase files that exist only on your device.
2 · On our servers
Optional account data, anonymous installation identifiers, and purchase/entitlement records. Use the form below to request deletion — we'll verify and confirm by email.
3 · With AI processing providers
When you requested AI features, audio or text was transmitted to third-party speech-to-text and AI processing providers to fulfill that request. We can delete what we hold and stop future processing, but we can't guarantee the immediate erasure of every transient copy on third-party systems — see the Privacy Policy for details.
Requests submitted here are recorded securely on our backend and reviewed by our support team.
